Of Sleep (A Poem)

Her nights fracture
Webbed, splintered mirror flicking
Will-o-wisps inside her brain

Reality pulls and snaps like
Taffy rope between her
Teeth as she lies down
Kissing a bed with her
Sore body

Eyelids drip, lashes hug
Cheeks as she melts to
Fantasy where she hurts
No longer
