Overcoming Fear (Audio!)

https://youtu.be/bV-BL8LpIzo

I hope you enjoy my first audio blog post.  Please be kind, and remember I was nervous and didn't have a script to go off of.  If I ever do this again, I will be simply reading one of my poems.  Here's to overcoming.

  1. That was good! And, frankly, being so far from home, it's comforting to hear the familiar voices of friends and family. I hope you do record your poems—I'd love to hear you read them. Often I find that having poetry read aloud by the author gives it a different meaning than the one I placed on it by reading it in my head.

    1. Next time, I swear I'm going to read off a script. It should cut out the rambling.
Don't you Skype or SnapChat with your family?

Everyone is going to want your attention once you're home. Otherwise, I'd invite you out for tea.

    2. I do Skype (or Hangout) with my parents somewhat regularly, and somewhat less frequently with my siblings and grandparents. Even with that it's been hard to be away from home for so long. This spring was especially hard—I miss hearing the frogs sing in the swamps!

Even though everyone will want my attention, I'm sure I could find time for tea! Once the time gets a little closer, I'll email or FB you to see if we can find a mutually agreeable time.

  2. Very well expressed--especially if you were not using a script. You spoke truths that apply to most of us and gave us some inspiration to take away from your visit with us. Keep putting yourself out more often like that. It can be scary at first, but eventually it's just another part of the job.

    1. Nope, no script. My husband typed the captions afterward.
I don't know how often I'm going to do this... not very.

      Thanks for listening!
