Wedding Anniversary and More (Personal)

My summer is always busier than my winter.

My two brothers, mother, and best friend all have birthdays between the 11th of June and the 25th of July.  I agonize over what to give them.  Do you guys drive yourself nuts over gift-giving?  I do, it stinks.  They all tell me I do well with it but I never think so.  I just want them happy.  Perhaps I obsess.

My wedding anniversary is tomorrow!  Brandon and I will be married five years and, on Saturday, it will be seven years as a couple.  We already had our anniversary celebration because of how busy this month generally is but I am still looking forward to it.

Our Wedding Day

I have seven rejections left for my 2012 goal.  The last one I received was yesterday but it didn't sting.  I have some where I KNOW I will be a nutcase when they reject me.  Oh well.
And, in better news:  My two poems for 7x20 will be put up soon!  The first one will be available to see on June 11th (mom's birthday) at 6:30 a.m. central time, and the other will be up June 14th at the same time of day.  7x20 is a twitter-zine.

Our Market Street Day is pretty soon in my town.  They cut off a couple of blocks of the main road and vendors set up their booths.  It is a lot of fun and it has really cool stuff.  My family and I go every year.

So what is everyone else up to?

  2. Happy Anniversary! And don't worry so much about gifts; what counts is the thought! And a meaningful gift means more than an expensive one. Give even the smallest gift but one that you know will make them smile, and that should be enough. Your family and friends love you for who you are and for you being there for them. Relax, breathe and enjoy your anniversary and all of the upcoming events. Have a great Summer! And congratulations on the couple of poems coming out. Just keep pushing forward and good writing!

    1. Thank you for the kind words. I try not to let myself stress. My mom keeps telling me I'm a worrier by nature.

  3. What a great picture! You make a beautiful couple. And happy anniversary!! This November will make 10 for me and my hubby and i don't know what we'll have planned.
Sounds like a busy month for you. I do not stress over gifts anymore. I love emailing Amazon gift cards so peeps can pick their own out. Yes it's a little impersonal, but for me personally, I prefer a gift card over something I didn't want anyway. lol

    Have a great weekend!!

    1. I don't send out gift cards to family because they don't shop online and it really limits options then.
Thank you for the compliments. I was lucky to find him from so far away.

  4. Happy Anniversary! That is exciting. I don't envy you all those birthday though. But... when I start thinking about it, I'm pretty close to you in numbers. It's insane. O-well. And I am the same about gift giving. I love to give people things, but I also hate it. I stress too much, and I swear it makes me pick the worst presents! *sigh*

    1. Everyone swears they love my presents. Maybe they say it to make me feel better or maybe they tell me so I don't keep hounding them over what they want.
I think presents are a way to tell someone you know them and that puts extra pressure on me.
