Inspiration (in a sense)

Occasionally, I will post writing ideas, prompts and tips to get the ideas flowing.

Today's prompt focuses on using just ONE sense in a poem. (You can do it with any sense but to be sporting it would be better to use something besides sight.) It can be any style or length. Some will be harder than others. Good luck!

Here is my try:

Toward Home

Scent of rain tickled

With wafts from a

Far-off pie cooling

Cherry, not any other

Kind

Last molecules of pie smell

Left her nose like a

Flighty lover

Replaced by pungent,

Decaying Lilacs and

Acute, zesty shame

She had come home

To visit
